The 3-Step Process for Successful Online Marketing

By: Fabio Peters

In today's online marketing world, you need to leverage different resources in order to attract more online business. Today I am going to talk to you about the process of successful online marketing.

The other day, somebody emailed me to ask why they were not getting any visitors and if I can help get their website on the first page of Google. I get this question quite a bit.

The first thing I advise people to do is to stop relying on Google for website traffic. Being on the first page is not as important as many people believe it to be. There are many more effective ways to drive traffic to your website.

What you should concentrate on is a 3-step process:

First, designing a website that is user friendly describes your services or product, and that builds your brand online. This means creating a website with an appealing visual user interface. I always recommend a WordPress theme website because WordPress is professional looking, has many powerful plugins, is easy to manage and most importantly mobile friendly.

Secondly, you need to optimize your website for search results. By this, I don't necessarily mean optimizing your homepage for Google rank, but rather creating content that people will search for so that they can be directed to your website through a specific search. This can be done by writing blog articles or creating video blogs on video sharing sites such as Youtube. You should also create and maintain social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter. There you can post your new blog articles or videos. This is part of building your brand and showing expertise in your field.

Then you need to capture your potential clients contact information such as phone numbers and emails. Email marketing is especially important. Once you have captured emails, you can then use an email marketing website such as MailChimp or Constant Contact to send out periodic emails advertising your services and products. This keeps you in the minds of people who have contacted you.

Thirdly, you need to never forget graphic design and print marketing. Your logo and corporate identity is key to your business's credibility. Your logo is how people will recognize you when searching for your services. It is your brand. It is your business face to the world.

When it comes to print, many people think that print marketing is dead. That they should focus all their attention online advertising. This is a big mistake. One of the most important things you can do is make sure you have business cards on you at all times so that you can hand them out to people you meet. The business cards should match the branding of your website. This adds to your business branding.

Along with business cards, you should also create flyers and other print material that you can circulate locally. The more exposure your brand has, the better.

So, to summarize your online marketing should be divided into a 3-step process.

1. Creating a professional website in Wordpress that is an informational source for your business.

2. Optimize your website for not only search engines, but search results. In other words, content that people are looking for.

3. Logo design and print marketing. Use print material to target people you meet and potential local clients who are not necessarily online. Print marketing to drive traffic to your website just by distribution of print material.
