3 Steps to creating a website
Before designing a website for your business, creating a website requires a process of getting the proper services in place to be able to get your website online. You will need to register a domain name (web address) for your business. You will need to purchase web hosting to upload your website files online. Finally, you need to choose a website platform that will make it easy to manage your website.
Register a Domain Name
This is something like yourwebsite.com. It is important to get a domain name that is not too long, so that it is easy for customers to remember and type in to a browser. It should also have your company name in it (or abbreviation) and preferably has your service keyword. I recommend register your domain in the the same place you purchase your web hosting.
Choose a Web Host
Web hosting is where your website files will be stored on the web. Web host companies store your files on web servers and they often will provide security features that self-hosted options just do not provide. That is why I highly recommend using well known web hosting services such as Godaddy, BlueHost and many others to host your website.
Recommended Web Host: BlueHost (Try BlueHost)
Select the Best Web Platform
There are many platforms that will help you easily build and manage your website. Nowadays, many content management systems and web builders are designed so that you don’t have to have any knowledge of coding in order to manage your website. My recommendation to most of my clients is to use WordPress. It is the most popular website platform. It is easy to use and comes with thousands of themes and plugins, which you can install so that you can have the functionality of a big business website, without needing to code or hire a programmer for your website.
